In a habeas corpus action challenging petitioner’s conviction for first-degree murder, the district court’s denial of the petition is affirmed where:
- the California Court of Appeal’s determination that no Miranda violation occurred when police continued to interrogate defendant after he requested a lawyer was an unreasonable application of clearly established federal law; but
- the California Court of Appeal’s determination that the error was harmless was not objectively unreasonable.
